Can you guys make this site compatible with Firefox? When I try to get on the site with Mozzila Firefox, I get an error.
I can get on the main page, but I can never log on, because when I try, it says: Warning: your browser doesn't send the HTTP_REFERER header to the website. This can be caused due to your browser, using a proxy server or your firewall. Please change browser or turn off the use of a proxy or turn off the 'Deny servers to trace web browsing' in your firewall and you shouldn't have problems when sending a POST on this website.\ Please make this site compatible with Firefox, or at least think about it.
Are you perhaps using a Norton "Security" product?
Word of advice: Don't. Find something that doesn't munge data and break standards. Bottom line: You're using a proxy/security software that breaks web standards, we're not fixing something that isn't an issue. Sorry!
I used Norton anti-virus and never had a problem(I'm on firefox as well). What would you recommend instead? I think I need to renew in March or May or so, if you have a better recommendation I'll do that instead. I tried one that was supposed to be free(may AVX, that doesn't seem right...I don't remember) but I couldn't find any sort of free version. Is there a good free program or am I better off spending the money?
Norton AV is entirely different from their internet security suite.
Though I tend to not like Norton in general because there are plenty of rootkits and exploiters for Norton products itself. (Just like any popular product *cough*windows*hack*) As for AV, ClamWin ( http://clamwin.org ) is my pick. I admittedly don't use firewall software, as much as I should. But our network is very stringently at the root level (i.e. the computer gateway that is connected to the modem in the first place).
I've heard nothing but bad about their security suite, but their av seems to be a real resource hog too. I just downloaded clamwin, I wonder if I should finish using my Norton for a few months or just take it off now?
I used a Mac for a little bit, didn't even use av software or anything. That was great. I did have something for about a year but let it expire. Never once had a problem(or at least with viruses, I had other problems with that damn thing).
No, I don't seem to have any problems with other sites while I am on Firefox, it's just this website. And I think I have already turned off all my firewalls already.
Oh well, I guess I can just use IE for this site. It's not that big of a deal. And did you guys make the new show yet?
Well, same with me (and mostly my computer as far as HDDwise is about to be trasned) I can browse the site, and login just peachy. But I do agree with other people on that fact that using Norton products is a waste of time, also for me at least Ive always had problems using ZoneAlarm, it messes up any incoming/outgoing internet traffic, so I highly recommend NOT using it, unless someone else says so.
I suddenly felt that my message came off as rude, so I did some investigating.
http://www.nukefixes.com/ftopict-1812.html I think considering the rammifications (script bots, etc.) I'm not going to "fix" this. I really am sorry. [edit] I also want to kind of know what's causing this. Since you say IE (yuck) works and Firefox doesn't. Do you have any extensions installed? Anything related to proxying, referers, or "security" ? My only other thought would be that the proxy settings are different (or perhaps unconfigured) in IE...
Jason, thanks for the help, but this doesn't really bug me much. Yeah, and IE is pretty bad compared to Firefox But still, I don't mind just coming on IE to post here. This is good enough. Thanks though.
