New to mp3 players, anyone help?I am thinking about getting an mp3 player...I am new to the whole I pod thing, but I pod is apple, right? I don't have a Mac, can I still use I pod's without using mac computers? And how many songs would a 3 gig harddrive hold?
Do you know the terror of he who falls asleep? To the very toes he is terrified, because the ground gives way under him, and the dream begins.

It's "iPod". You can use iPods on Windows computers for awhile now. Song storage varies depending on song length and quality the songs were ripped at. Please don't tell us that's how much space your hard drive has right now. =\
No. I didn't get an I pod yet...just threw a number out there.

I was looking for, like, a 20 gig drive...

I have a 30gig iPod, and I'm not even half way to filling it up yet.. I have a ton of videos, a shit load of music (around 2000 songs), and a lot of files I take from my computer (about 5 gigs worth).
So not only is it good for music/videos, but for storing files as well.
