Rock Revolution announced by Konami

Rock Revolution announced by KonamiWay too late though...
Seriously this would've been pretty damn freaking awesome like 5 years ago... still, it's good that Konami is finally doing something. (and yet again with the "Revolution" titles... seriously Konami, stop it...)
Wow... Talk about showing up drunk, half assed and late to the party you started Konami... Honesty i can't see anyone buying another drumset just for this game (except for the overly rabid bemani/konami fanboys)... The general public that thinks Guitar Hero started it all, (and not GF) will dismiss this quicker than Dance Factory...

Sorta derailing the thread for a second, the Guitar Hero IV drums are out, and they look... exactly the same as Konami's drums! And the UK (and me) gets Rock Band in a week.
Forgive me for being such a noob, but didn't Konami make some form of Guitar Hero for japan before it came out here? So technically it's not a rip-off, right?
Nope, not a ripoff at all. Though yeah, when I saw the drums for GHIV, my immediate thought was, "Where have I've seen that drum setting before...? Oh yeah, Drummania... 9 YEARS AGO!"
I really hate when I go to an arcade to play DDR and I hear some people looking at a GF machine and say, "Oh look! A Guitar Hero Ripoff!" I just want to knock some heads.
Not only is Konami late, but holy shit this is NOT Guitar Freaks. Konami's reputation as a music game developer is gonna go into a black hole here in North America.
I guarantee RR will not break even 1,000 copies here in North America. That, or I will--*gets shot*
OMG GS68!!! Don't die on me! *Uses healing touch to remove bullet*
Anyhoo, I don't believe that Konami's repuation as a music game developer will go down because of RR. Heck, every developer has a black sheep sometime or other. (Here's looking at you, Mario goes missing and countless Jumping Flash remakes.) But still, with shiny new games GH IV and RB 2, I think RR will go six feet under. But then again, who's to say that all of these games are going to go six feet under as well? I believe this is a current fad, and it will go down in the upcoming years. Take DDR for example: Revolutionary when first mix came out, great when Max came out, and old when SuperNOVA came out. Don't get me wrong, I'm a very big DDR fanboy, but the games haven't been as popular as when they first debuted when I was four.
It will. RR will get dismissed as a ripoff of Guitar Hero with "Japanese techno" by the masses.
Well... the US version will have (quoting from gamespot here) Twisted Sister ("We're Not Gonna Take It"), Motley Crue ("Dr. Feelgood"), Quiet Riot ("Cum On Feel the Noize"), and even Avril Lavigne ("Sk8er Boi")... so not quite music no-one's heard of, but a pretty crappy selection compared to Guitar Hero and Rock Band's excellent song lists.
If Rock Revolution sells its 1001st copy you should dress up as Tingle.
It's not supposed to be. Nope. Dismissed? Probably. Ripoff? Blame X-Play (but remember, this isn't Guitar Freaks). "Japanese Techno"? Something tells me that's going to encompass less than 30% or so of the playlist. lol. I support this notion.
