Oblivion is clearer on PS3Its things like this that will set
the PS3 apart and its just what I have been waiting to see. http://www.portableplanet.co.uk/2006/10 ... enefiting/ Developers can now produce better visuals and the artwork that are in the games show much nicer.
And graphics mean precisely squat in the long run. A game can look like a small god but still play like crap.
Graphics mean nothing... Atari Jaguar and 3DO proved that... People forget that video-games are just that games... and in order for a game to be good it needs to be fun... It can have the best textures and all the anti aliasing you can do... But the fact is Sony needs to make it enjoyable... And if it cant do that then it will fail period... I plan on getting a PS3... Eventually... Right now the launch titles arent appetising and the price is too much... So i will wait till the spring/early summer to get one...
If gameplay was ever the issueIf gameplay were the issue, renting
instead of buying would solve that.
GameplaySoftware companies have the ability to
make games fun its not all sony when it comes to Atari and what not. The fact that the ability is there is nice for the game that has good graphics and good gameplay it would be absolutly stupid to think that all thats needed is good graphics. It will still suck for cross platforming but make your purchases based on what you want as far as gameplay. And Sony has allready obtained the right developers that make good gameplay as well as good graphics so this point counter point is so dense.
umm if memory serves me game developers are starting to pull back from Sony and go toward Xbox360 because the development costs are soo high for the PS3 that its cheaper and easier to develope games for the 360... Also Sony is starting to lose its exclusivity for certain games to other systems as well (ie. GTA)... So im failing to see your point....
Re: If gameplay was ever the issue
...no, that's not true. A game with great gameplay is a game I would buy and keep playing over and over. Why else do you think my favourite game to this day is The Guardian Legend on NES?
Re: Blu-Ray - HDDVD
Actually, HD-DVD looks far better than anything the Blu Ray can produce. This is because of the encoding that both use. HD-DVD uses the new high definition codec VC-1. Blu ray uses an aged codec in MPEG-2 (the same thing in DVD's). If Blu Ray can fix the codecs and master old films for high def, they'll look comparable. At this point, HD-DVD is the way to go if you have to be on the cutting edge. (stupid until something wins)
Re: Ok
I have yet to see a price named for the Blade servers. If you could, please produce a link as proof. And even if each server was $16000, there's more to a server than its processor, it isn't the only component. The $16000 price tag would only make sense to me if it was a server cluster and each individual server is only ~$2000
Re: If gameplay was ever the issue
Thats totally cool you found a really nice game to play over and over I had a few also but to find them I first rented them. Cause then i would waste 50 bucks on a sucky game and thats not cool at all. Gonna look that game up cause I was stuck on other nintendo games like donkey kong, marioworld and starfox to name a few didnt get to all the games nintendo allways had alot of good ones. As far as joining in on this sunday I cant its me and my wifes 12th anniversary but I will listen to the cast later on my PSP.
Re: Blu-Ray - HDDVD
Your serious VC-1 is a compression codec that supports the HDDVD for its lack of space no such codec is needed with Blu-Ray.
I take that backActually VC-1 is a compression codec for 1080(i)nterlaced
not 1080p it will be a requirment for Blu-ray to have this codec as well.
Re: I take that back
Bah. I officially hate all High Definition formats, I've heard more important arguments about cake.
