True thatI do aggree with Sony is shooting something in the foot
but acctually what ever Sony says or for that matter what ever any big bussiness says will allways be turned or twisted against it. Thats just what critics and the Press do or they dont have anything to write about. No news make something up. Got some news make it more interesting cause someone to get upset. but of course we read it anyways and I see it as just more publicity and that works to the advantage of the buisness. Anyways I do agree there is bad press about Sony. But I wanted a PS3 when I heard that IBM was making a SuperComputer Gaming chip 4 or 5 years ago. Of course your gonna have bad press when making bold statements like that but you notice its not aimed at IBM its at Sony. Well thats my two cents to who it may concern. Thanks for keeping it real.
Re: True that
1) Nice Sony Fanboy site, just wanted to get that one out there. 2) Your arguments are no longer making sense. 3) SONY is getting the bad press because the BLURAY reader that SONY AND NOT IBM is making isnt working. Thia would make it SONY'S and not IBM's fault. 4) They (the press) have a lot to write about. Sony keeps digging themselves a deeper hole. First, the PSP, then the TV sales, then the Exploding laptops, and now the fact that shipments got cut to 500,000 for the PS3. In honesty, you sound a lot like I did when the n64 was released. I thought it would blow everything else the hell away. However, you need to be real and not sound real and not fanboyish.
Agreed. It's cool to be an enthusiast of something, and I guess you can do whatever you want, in terms of buying power. But I am having a lot of trouble following your posts, please include some punctuation in the future.
Like I said, I personally want Sony to do well. I think that when there are powerful systems at the top of their game, the consumer wins. Remember the Super NES Vs. Genesis days? Man oh man, Chrono Trigger, FF6, Phantasy Star IV, Shining Force II, and so many more. when the environment is strong and competitive, we see companies step their games up and make us better titles. That's what I'm hoping for. My concerns with Sony's console is that their marketing campaign is baroque and kinda gross, and their production problems leave me seriously concerned. For a vast number of reasons. They haven't sold me on Blu-Ray yet, nor have they tried. They haven't announced a firm and exciting launch lineup, nor have they tried. I don't doubt the PS3 is a powerful system, but the way they are mismanaging this launch, combined with their financial woes does not instill me with a great deal of confidence in the company. Like I said, I'll probably buy all 3, but right now, the Wii is the one I want most. Followed pretty closely by the 360 (come on Blue Dragon demo...).
Re: True that
Dude, I love this guy. He writes like a poet... a really bad one, that is.
ABUH??? What the hell? The King's head chopped off... what are they trying to imply? that Microsoft is King? Isn't it kind of the other way around? Unless this is Sony's "We're giving up" ad campaign. As for Nintendo only having kiddy games, the new Zelda and Metroid Prime games are far from kiddy. And Nintendo consoles has more than a good amount of M-Rated games in their collection. In the end, Greywulf, your arguments don't make too much sense, we know that you are a total Sony Fanboy, so stop trying to start flame wars.
Re: All in allI have two words for you. Eternal Darkness Animal Crossing may be cute and childish, but it takes a vastly larger comprehension in order to actually play the game to any measurable worth. Also there was a news article recently about Rockstar bringing it's games to the Wii. That ain't preschooler.
Re: True that
I see what your saying only I dont believe blu ray is a personal problem I see a benifit from having one but for cost alone to be trully clear IBM has taken the Cell chip and put it into their $16,000 dollar blade server. If the Cell is that costly then why isnt the focus on Sony pushing Cell on us to pay more for the console. I guess most have bought the press and are fanboys to the press. Now whats really funny is when the press finds a guy to complain about the Bluetooth controller thats for the PS3, you see its not compatable with infrared controllers and a guy is verry upset that he wont be able to set it up on his IR remote. If some were to look closer at this subject the PS2 didnt come IR ready either but thats not the focus. Thats why the press is so retarded after all they do have a job to do and the latest fad is to throw stones at Sony. Perhaps if they were to throw those stones at M$ they might fear there M$ office software wont get a good update.
Re: True that
Just FYI, this is not making any sense. What does "Blu-Ray not a personal problem" mean? Do you mean it's not Sony's fault there are so many defective blue laser diodes?
The Cell proccessor costs roughly about $190, while the Blu-Ray drive costs about $250. And Sony isn't pushing Cell because since the Cell microproccessor is a joint venture between Sony, Toshiba and IBM, while the Blu-Ray format is completely self-developed by Sony and thus, if they get the format to stick, they get to sell more Blu-Ray players (~$1200), more VAIO computers with the drives (~$2000-4000), which means more profit for them. And it seems that Sony decided earning money on BLu-Ray is more important than earning money from PS3, hence the heavy losses per console sold.
Uh-huh, and how would you feel if you bought a $200 remote that is supposed to intergrate your whole entire home theatre system together and now it can't completely becasue Sony didn't bother to hook up a $0.20 component to their conole? It's not like Bluetooth and IR can't coexist with each other.
That's because 4-6 years ago when the PS2 and Xbox first came out, only 0.0001% of the whole world's population had a $200 remote that can control their TV and their curtains.
Or maybe you are poking fun at Microsoft for no apparent reason and aren't willing to admit that Sony has flaws, just like anybody else. And not to open a whole new can of worms here but, what does everybody here have against Microsoft and Windows these days? It's really beginning to bug me because I see no reason for it.
Re: True that
Wii = $249.99 360 = $299.99/$399.99 PS3 = $499.99/$599.99 Or did you forget? DT OLRmy since 6/23/2002!

Well I must say that I got to play both the PS3 and the Wii today.
The PS3 worked perfectly and everything was very smooth with no problems as I went through some of Resistence. Oddly enough I played elebits on the Wii and there were a good amount of problems. 1st the loading took over a whole minute and many actually put the game down thinking it was broken. For some reason the screen kept going to the left and it was really annoying. I also noticed what I call the "sonic" problem, this is where if you move a little bit whatever you're controlling moves a lot more making it tough to inch around. So that's just what I played, in no way does this mean that it will be the final product.
OkAs far as me having a personal problem with Windows
its possibly because I worked on PCs for 20 to 30 years. And the frustration never ceased, for reasons that some of the problems turned out to be extreemly stupid. but anyhow I do like hardware thats done well and hate software that sucks. All the other parts of my post still stand IBM is selling the Cell Blade Servers for $16,000 for one thats loaded with 2 Cell chips thats $15,6020 more than the Cells supposed cost. Hmm it seems to me that im getting a bargain for that hardware. thanks Sony/IBM/Toshiba for that initial 1.2 billion to just lay the plans.
Dammit Justin, I hate you...
Blu-Ray - HDDVDJust like to shed light on this
No they are not the same looks are not that important. Its storage thats the purpose and the real difference. If the focus is looking no different in image quality let me say you could put the same picture quality on a CD or DVD for its all digital but that would be stupid for its storage space thats the issue. Just remember Blu-Ray means more storage capacity and you will know if thats what you want.
Blu-Ray - HDDVDThe two formats will look the same
thats the HD part but its about storage capacity. You can put HD on a CD or DVD but not as much so again its about the storage. You can make your buying decisions with that in mind.
