After spending a little time on other message boards reading about how good these characters are in Smash Bros. Melee, I noticed that all these people were doing on the boards is just yell back and forth at each other how shiek is better than Marth, and vice versa...I did play with these characters, and maybe I have to practice more, but why are they good characters to use and are considered top tier? I do better with Link...Any comments as to why they are top tier?

I dont know, but Samus is better than Link. Im going to play with shiek tonight to see whats up.. but I spend 99% of battles as Samus to improve my skills...

I think with any fighting game forum people will always debate ____ character is better than _____ character.... But anyways here’s my opinion on Sheik and Marth... (I do stress opinion because im not an expert nor do i claim to be) :

Sheik in my mind is the most broken character in the game next to Falco and Ganondorf... I say this because ive played as him and have handed peoples asses to them using him... Ive also gotten MY ass handed to me many a time against him... He/she is one of the fastest characters in the game... He can spike in every direction... Up Down Left Right... Has a chain grab is just cheap (thats where you throw him and grab him right away before he hits the ground)... His chain itself, people say is the ultimate edge guard move... I dont agree with that because ive found ways around it... But his down smash is tough to avoid if he does it on the edge and you’re trying to get up... His combos are devastating and unrecoverable if done right... But the main thing is his/her speed... You need to be quick in order to beat his speed... Anyways all together this is what Sheik is like when a master is behind him

As for Marth... I don’t know enough about him like i do with Sheik... But i do have a general idea on why people like him so much.... I think its because: He has good reach (thanks to his sword), has a good Roof spike, the best edge guard move im my mind in the game (regular B), his sword can help him float across the stage (or back to the edge after being knocked out) and has a few devastating combos as well...

HAHA!!! Link is way to awsome to play with anyone else. For me anyways...I love it when NESS uses PK THUNDER!!!! and misses himself to add boost to his jump, falling to his death.
