Hey everyone its darkknight, thought i post a topic in the fourm to make an announcement about the posibility of having a mario kart ds tourny here on olr in the near future, details haven't been set just yet, but i'm currently in the process of making this a reality. There might be a prize in it as well so if you may be interested just post a reply and if i have enough people willing to compete then i will get the ball rolling on that. I also need to talk with skie about making some arrangements so if your reading this post i'll talk to you during your show wedenday k. Hope to hear from you guys soon.

umm Mario Kart DS N00b here... what is Snaking?

Constant power sliding back and forth across the track. It will look like the opponent is having a seizure moving all over the place if that's what they are doing.

This was also possible in other Nintendo racing games though, Mario Kart DD and FZero GX could do this as well. The difference is neither of these play online so it didn't really matter.

It's debatable whether this is really cheating or not. I can see how people are going to do whatever it takes for a quick lap time. It is rather cheap though, I wish this sort of thing wasn't really available. This is where Burnout online really just shows how superior it is. If you're getting your ass kicked there, at least you know it's because they are good and not because they spent an excessive amount of time to master some cheap trick. It kills the fun.

Yeah I agree entirely, games should be based on skill and not by finding a way around just to win.

I'm in, once I get my MKDS bundle in sometime this week, I'll be ready.
