According to Aint It cool News.... Director Guillermo Del Toro (Hellboy, Blade2 and Mimic) has been seriously courted by Peter Jackson and Universal to helm this project... According to AICN they are close to announcing that Guillermo will direct Halo which "should" start filming in June... They moved the start date from March to June because Guillermo wants enough time in between Hellboy 2 and Halo to work everythingout... So far its just a "Confirmed Rumor" (oxymoron i know) but fans should be happy about this... Del Toro is a big nerd like Jackson and will probally do the film justice... I will end up seeing it eventhough i dont like Halo at all... But since im in the industry i feel obligated to see it... The one thing i like about this move is like the article below states that Del Toro getting involved with Weta could branch a pairing for the H.P Lovecraft movie (Cthuhlu fans unite) "In The Mountains of Madness"... That is all

Apparently that has been debunked, Guillermo Del Toro has denied ever being asked........... don't know, he seems like a plausible choice to me though.

I don't know if I'll go see this, i'm not really in to Halo but I do like the occasional action flick. Best part is though that I can go and see this and rate it on being an action movie and not a game adaptation snce I don't know too much about Halo at all!

I'm not sure who's doing this yet I just wanted to post my 2c about the movie.
