I'm kind of mixed on if I should try this immediately or wait. Maybe I'll pick it up this weekend.

How are you getting online with it? I'm not thrilled with the USB adapter being $35 when you can pick up a wireless router from ebay for $10shipped. So even if I get it this weekend it won't be another week before I can get it online(unless I'm lucky and my wireless modem works with it, but so far I've only been able to get my computer working on it, I tried another reciever for the XBox at one point and it didn't recognize it).

I picked up the game today, Gamestop had a used copy already, $27 after the discount so I couldn't turn it down. Lucky me, my crappy Qwest modem works with it as well after a pain in the ass firmware upgrade so I saved some money having to buy extra equipment.

After playing this game a bit, I think this is one of the best Mario Karts out lately. I really didn't like Super Circuit much, it controlled like a turd. Although the online option is decent, I think the lack of voice really takes away from it. I can kill 3 hours or more on Burnout if I find a good room with decent people talking. The quiet just takes away from it. But it's a fun novelty, I don't think I'd consider it anything else. Maybe if you met up with folks you know, but I have a problem doing that on Live, much less this thing.

I'm really starting to warm up to playing Mario Kart online now, it's turning out to be a good time. I don't like how you play in 100cc mode, and the random grouping thing kinda sucks since you can't pick a room or anything. But even with those, it's fun. I wish you could talk to the people you're playing instead, I'm usually sitting at home listening to a podcast or something.

What characters do you use? I started off with Yoshi, then gave Mario a try for a while. I'm currently using Dry Bone(I used to love using Koopa in the original so I figured this was as close to that as I could go). He works out pretty well until the other person is using a fast person(like Wario) and doesn't screw up, then I don't have a chance(at least on places like Choco Mountain where there is no shortcuts or anything I can take advantage of).

I thought I was gonna unlock ROB this morning, ran through the last 3 cups for the 150 retro. Then BAM! "You have unlocked 150 Mirror". Well, that's good, but now I have 8 more cups before ROB. I really don't plan on using ROB anyway. I've used his vehicles with other characters and wasn't impressed. Maybe if I wanted a drifter, I'd use the Luigi/ROB-car combo. I still like my Dry Bones/Tank-car(although I don't like the way the car looks as much as the original skeleton-mobile, but it's faster).
