Hey, we haven't forgotten our roots as a Music Video Game station. Talk about DDR/IIDX and all that note smashing here.

Well that's cool cause I'm only up to about 3-4 stars.... on the Japanese L7 So whether or not that makes me a flashing 7 master in the US version... I dunno DT
Haha. We'll see. We'll see. You might just be able to master Another if they dumb it down enough.

Guys, it's really not all this "dumbed down" that the j-purists would have you believe. From what I understand, note charts were mainly altered to make room for more free-scratch zones.
For 98% of players it's going to be a challenging game.

Yeah I knew that I'll admit to exaggerating a bit when I said I'd be able to pass flashing 7s or whatever they are now.
Hopefully I can track down a copy when its released...

Maybe a pre-order would suffice.

It's too bad the other 2% are going to be the noisyist (lol word?), whinyist, and most obnoxious people.

I still just hope this game will be successful enough to continue in the US. There is hope as long as konami knows how to advertise in their other games especially DDR.

And i'm one of those people who wants to discover the joys of Beatmania. I have never played beatmania in my life and I'm so courious that I'm buying the bundle just to see what started the whole bemani movement. Hopefully there is this drill mode that will teach players how to get better at BM.
Oh and heres a PSM scan/review of beatmania.

I'm not surprised the learning curve is where this game is going to get hit on the most... lets face it, for someone whose not a music games enthusiast who has all that motivation to play those songs... the difficulity may be a little high for some (makes getting good all that more show-offable though). Yet.... people complain all the recognizeable songs are too easy. This was Konami *trying* to compensate for that learning curve
I'd like to see a review of the game that doesn't compare it to Guitar Hero, LOL. Bet Konami wishes they had done this a year ago now But the reviewer makes a good point, and brings up this interesting "issue" with the community vs. the masses. The reviewer says that there aren't enough recognizable songs in there (But come on, he didn't know Funkytown? lol)... but when the mixes get "too americanized", people around the bemani forums bitch a lot.

I agree. People in the community are going to bitch. A lot of them don't understand that there are people who are buying this that haven't heard or played IIDX or DDR before. And like you said these Licenses are made easy so they can play something everybody know's. It makes complete sense. But alot of the bemani community doesn't see that. At least I don't think they do.
PS: 14 Days aka 2 weeks.

This guy that my dad works with is a total anime freak. And he has a subscription to Newtype magazine. It had a review for Beatmania. It was cool. Oh. And only 8 days left!

I don't feel like browsing through the pages. So if what I say came up then deal with it. The only main reason im getting this game is mainly for the controller, but im curious to know what's different from this controller to the japanese one, and it's not gonna be usb support will it? I don't think so.
