The upcoming March USA release of everyone's favorite bemani game, BEATMANIA now has a price to go with it. It will be offered in 2 flavors, a $49.99 version with the turntable controller or a $39.99 version without the controller. Beatmania is set to hit stores March 15th.

What about a V-rare? Remember last year Konami said that there would be 3 V-rares that year and we only got 2?

The only difference with the pricing now is that the game without controller sku has been removed otherwise it's still $49.99 retail. My Konami rep hasn't gotten back to me yet. I know he travels alot because he's the associate regional sales manager.

Yeah. I called EB games last night and they said that they'll be getting the bundle pack on the 29th of March for $60.

Well just heard back from my rep. The bundle is indeed $59.99. There will be a game only version available only at Gamestop, EB, and Game Crazy as well. The date though is still 3/14/06.

That would suck to buy 2 different controllers so I hope they never do that.

Not yet, but who knows? I read in an interview about bmUS that an XBOX version wasn't completely out of the question. (IIDXBOX, anyone? )
Although it would make highscore saving via live and downloadable songpacks perfect additions...

Yeah, songpacks would be be sweet.
I checked my local gamestop last night, they dont even have a date for BM, just a price of $64.99. They're not even selling single copies, just the bundle.

I would honestly hope that copies of the game by itself are hard/rare to find.
Those of us WITH a controller are most certainly the minority. And you WILL WANT/NEED a IIDX controller to play this game. Dual Shocking it up is just not fun, and more or less defeats the purpose.

There are E3 interviews that say that the beatmania team will look into porting the game to other consoles depending on how beatmania US will sell.
