Ultramix 4Tis out, anyone else pick it up? Its going for 30 at gamestop righht now.
Hey guys- Its worth every penny of the $29.99. There is so much new content and everything. Songs are great, Power mixes are great, modes are great, TRIPLES mode is great, interface is smoother. Loadings faster, everything is improved. The only downside is too many anime styled characters all over the place, the Robo is fugly and SPOILER->
I would but no store got in the V-rares so I'll be waiting a while. I should probably save that money for gifts this holiday.
I picked it up seeing as it was only $30, and pretty much guarenteed to be the last of last gen Xbox DDR...
For what you pay, it's not a horrible game. It's got some great songs in it. I feel like the list has quite a bit of variety, but doesn't seem quite as random as Ultramix 3 was. My only complaint about the songlist is that it seems very polarized. It's as if there is a group of darker synthpopish beats and a group of more generic electronica songs, and then a big void in between them that isn't really filled. All in all though, there are definantly a few gems in the songlist that make the game worth it. I think the biggest letdown on UM4 is the graphics. A good portion of the banners just look like some designer just slapped on any random typeface with any random background image that they could randomly generate. The colors often clash, and usually don't seem to have any fit to the music. The designer totally ignores many of the basic principles of designs, for example, nearly every song title on the banner is placed dead-center, in an ugly typeface none-the-less. Mind you, graphics aren't what's important in a DDR game, but it definantly makes the quality of the game seem more marginal when compared to SuperNova. Quest mode is an improvement from Ultramix 3, but it's still not perfect. I can't comment too much on it, as I'm only now working through the executive level. As of now though, I still find myself playing the same songs repeatedly, just like what I did in Ultramix 3. The game is still pretty new to me, and I haven't played through all the extra modes and such, but perhaps I'll comment more on what I find if the mood strikes me.
