my so called "good" machine
Dell Inspiron E1505 Windows Vista Ultimate - Fedora Core 6 Dual Boot (Seriously thinking about switching back to Xp or just building a real gaming pc, I cant live without the integrated search, its a lot better than the "desktop searches" that google and yahoo offer.) 1GB of Ram (need more ram for vista) 15.4 Inch Widescreen Intel Core Duo 1.86Ghz (this was built before they released the core 2 duo's for laptops) ATI Radeon Mobility X1400 128MB + available system memory 60GB HDD (main) + 500GB Mybook External drive Yeah, not the greatest machine in the world but it gets the job done.
Just got a new computer today...
Manufacturer: HP Pavilion 061 Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5000+, MMX, 3DNow (2 CPUs), ~2.6GHz Memory: 2048MB RAM Hard Drive: 320 GB 7200 RPM Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 7950 GT Monitor: Envision 19'' 1440x900 Sound Card: Realtek HD Audio rear output Speakers/Headphones: Keyboard: USB Root Hub Mouse: USB Root Hub Mouse Surface: Operating System: Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 2 (2600.xpsp_sp2_gdr.070227-2254) The 7950 is AMAZING...
Refurbished, and it was only $550 from the zoo, I mean Fry's.
And I don't really want Vista until I get a DX10 graphics card and gaming performance is improved. Basically, until there are games that require dx10, I'm not gonna hop on too early.
