Hi all,
I've been recently bitten by the bug to start my own podcast (though not gaming related, OLR is still a big reason I'm going through with it). I was wondering what people on the station used for recording shows. I searched these forums and found info on software, but not the hardware side. Sadly, my computers have sound cards with recording directly off the computer disabled, so workarounds for this would help too.
Thanks!

Equipment used to record shows

I sent them an email about exactly this question on October 21, 2006. You may be able to find an old recording where it was answered specifically, but if memory serves right, they run their mics through a hardware mixer and record the output into a sound card.
While useful, that much hardware is unnecessary for a small just-starting podcast. You already have all the software you need it sounds like, but for hardware all you need is a mic and a soundcard. You don't have to record directly off the computer unless you want to record sound effects in realtime, as they can be edited in later (or not used), as can bumper music. Best of luck with your podcast!
