Is DDR a Sport?Norway's about to recgonize DDR as a sport, according to a recent BBC article (full story on front page).
What do you guys think? Should DDR be recgonized as a sport? What is a sport to you, and does DDR fit that bill? We'll read some of your answers on Sunday's show...
IT is a sport.
Even tho people have no idea what it is. Just because it isn't on TV or has a Big finish like Baseball - World Series, Hockey - Stanley Cup, Football - SuperBowl (Grey Cup for us in Canada), ect, it won't matter people play this game alot. If it was televised, more people would be interested. I consider it a sport/workout/hobby. If norway thinks it is So amazing to be a sport let them. Happily Stalking You Devman
Now where does it say that popularity defines a sport .
well duh. DDR is a sport. CounterStrike on the other hand all you do is sit in a chair and Shoot people in a Virtual 3dWorld. DDR, You have to move and complete (Lets call it) routines and are able to inprove your physical fitness. It Builds leg muscles and builds better bodies.
You know when you start AAAing songs on stealth you've been good. (CoughYASUCough) but anyway. The competitiveness is cool. but when you have people who go around and start talking like "If you Don't have AAA's your no good at the game." God do you know how much of a fucking tard that sounds like. I have no AAA's And i still play for the fun. Sports are fun. I (Again) consider DDR a Sport. Now Where'd my cheerleaders go... I believe that DDR is a sport. It is a hobby that people do for fun and you get your body working whilst doing it. You are keeping yourself fit by playing it. Also, it's fun. Most people who are serious in a sport love it, thus people who are serious DDR'ers - don't they love playing DDR too?
We've had a coversation in Math class about sports and we came up with these: a.) Has a scoring system b.) Large scale events c.) physical activity DDR has all of those requirements, we thought sports had in Math class yesterday. Thus, I believe that DDR is a sport. Got Orange Lounge Radio?
