DJ Shadow feat. Mos Def - Six Days vs. Tears For Fears - Shout

Six Days:

Shout:

I know it's been awhile since there's been one of these on the site, which is why I'm trying to spice things up a little bit. This week I give you a pair of songs that were reportedly going to be 'mashed-up' for their appearance in Activision's newest franchise, DJ Hero!

Shout was released in 1984 by the British group Tears For Fears, and it was #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in August of 1985.

Six Days was a song by DJ Shadow, most people know it as the title track to 2006's The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift.

Listening to both of these songs, yeah I think I could see some possibilities for awesome remixed mashups of the two songs... this would be the pair I'm most looking forward to in DJ Hero, due out sometime next year!

On our labor day episode of OLR, we start with a LIVE phone call from our pal Bobby Blackwolf, who is in Seattle at Penny Arcade Expo 2009. We get all the updates on things you might have seen, and some things that were a bit under the radar as well. We get into some gaming news in Part A as well including DSi exclusive games, and big updates to the Wii internet channel. The fun keeps going in Part B with our usually colorful mailbag segment, as well a debate on the good of social networking being added to an upcoming racing game. Also, why is Sony producing a reality show and why are people getting excited about the prize? However, could Sonys 3D gaming plans revolutionize gaming? Discussion on all this and MORE including your chatroom comments, phone calls and emails on the show where EVERY gamer has a voice: Orange Lounge Radio!

What is up with all the 250GB systems lately? And how is Best Buy going to try and stop you from trading back your PS3 fat for a slim? In part B of episode number 336, we take on the twitter topics which includes a folding laptop, then talk a little bit about arcades at a store you might not have ever expected. Arkham Asylum sets a record, and Rock Band Unplugged has a more featured demo than you might have imagined. To celebrate the announcement of the Wiiware version of my favorite independently-developed title evar, I thought I'd come back with a special look at some of my favorite selections from the game's epic soundtrack. (Ironically enough, the developers also posed the question 'What are some of your favorite songs')

So allow me to answer that question... hit the jump to start the expedition!
