Hey new and old OLR listeners; in the next week or so I'm going to try and get some updates done to the site, tightening security, new comments system with less spam a few other things.
Hopefully this will allow us to re-open the forums to user registration.
If there's anything you would like to see or changed about the current site please post in the comments of this thread and let me know!
I've just performed some upgrades to the forums and they should run a little smoother. On top of that the OLR staff should now have access to the full moderator control panel without having to mess around to make it work.
On the Sept 13th episode of Orange Lounge Radio, we start off with a flurry of news from none other than Courtney Love, who is not happy with the likeness of her husband Kurt Cobain being used in Guitar Hero Five. Rejoice as a Commodore 64 emulator makes its way to the iPhone, but then be irritated that it got pulled within moments. A new PSP firmware hits, and a tricky new Arkham Asylum bug outs pirates unknowingly. Clever or entrapment? We debate live on the show with our chatters. In Part B tonight, Final Fantasy 13 FINALLY has a date... in Japan anyway... Silent Hill Homecoming gets cancelled in Japan, and Bethesda files a lawsuit over a Fallout MMO. All of this including your phone calls, e-mails, chatroom antics, twitter topics and more on the interactive show where EVERY gamer has a voice: Orange Lounge Radio (Sorry our feed is behind guys, we will be catching up this week)
WAKA LAKA / Jenny ROM vs. ZIPPERS | Due to legal reasons I can't make this song available for download.
With the 'Retro OLR' kick I've been on lately working on a very special project (which you should stay tuned for details on!) I've been hearing this one alot lately. (It helps that it was the 'intro BGM' to OLR's very very first season way back in 2002, so there's quite a bit of sentiment attached to this song for me.)
But even without that it's still a pretty good license, prolly one of the best featured in 2002's DDRMAX2: Dance Dance Revolution 7th MIX.
DJ Shadow feat. Mos Def - Six Days vs. Tears For Fears - Shout
Six Days:
Shout:
I know it's been awhile since there's been one of these on the site, which is why I'm trying to spice things up a little bit. This week I give you a pair of songs that were reportedly going to be 'mashed-up' for their appearance in Activision's newest franchise, DJ Hero!
Shoutwas released in 1984 by the British group Tears For Fears, and it was #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in August of 1985.
Six Days was a song by DJ Shadow, most people know it as the title track to 2006's The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift.
Listening to both of these songs, yeah I think I could see some possibilities for awesome remixed mashups of the two songs... this would be the pair I'm most looking forward to in DJ Hero, due out sometime next year!
