After an unexpected break in the live shows thanks to H1N1 (yes, really), OLR returns with this live show from November 15th, 2009. We take some time to reflect on what it was like to have the pig flu, and then get to the games! In Part A tonight , we talk about broken street dates by Gamestop on some recent big releases. Is this a practice that we will see more of in the future? Our hosts have some strong opinions as do the live chatters. FINALLY, Final Fantasy 13 has a release date, and Modern Warfare 2 sets some big records to no ones surprise. In a nearly three and a half hour show, we move on in Part B to talk about 1 vs 100 season 2, as well as an interesting new iPhone game that lets you make FIRE! Moonwalker is headed to the virtual console, but is it time for a new kind of Michael Jackson video game? We brainstorm with our listeners on this and more topics. In Part B, we mourn the N-Gage, which we honestly thought was already dead-- oops! This was our first show back after President Cat made waves on various gaming blogs throughout the community. What did the hosts think about the whole situation? We make some comments on it all. 19, and 20, November
I think you guys know me well enough that I would never pass up an opportunity like this! Two songs about a specific day in November, but both as different as night and day...
20, November hails all the way back from Dance Dance Revolution 3rd MIX, released way back in the late 90s on the PSX. Perhaps one of the most iconic songs in DDR/BEMANI history, anyone who's ever been into the series has heard of it. It's been remixed countless times, but nobody can deny the classic feel of the original.
19, November is a vastly different song, making its debut in the import only beatmania IIDX 6th Style ~New Songs Collection~ which was one of the very first BEMANI releases that OLR covered way back in 2002!! Perhaps most memorable for the line 'you have had a cry' it's still a pretty unforgettable song, most of you may have seen it ressurected in the XBOX original DDR: Ultramix 2!
