Change is Good

From my perspective, I *LOVE* it, and we should have probably made this kind of switch a year ago when we first started podcasting. I'm really feeling the show growing more and more... on the side you guys don't see, the show has a lot more structure now... maybe it's shining through in the finished product, I dunno :)

I haven't heard part B, yet. I'll sync it up tonight. The new format is obviously better for you guys for two main reasons:

1) You don't have to set aside "special time" to do the podcast.
2) In theory, it should be easier to edit.

To me, you guys talk about the same stuff in the longer format. OLR twice a week is kinda nice! I like when you read aloud some of the chatroom. Makes me forget it's a recording, actually.

Book of Daniel

Postby robbway » Fri Feb 03, 2006 6:12 am

On Book of Daniel, it was extremely well written, funny, and focused on an extremely pressure priest. The show was really about sanity in an insane life and doing the morally right thing. Every character had an over-the-top problem, including Daniel's addiction to Vicodin. Those holier-than-thou people that criticized the show without seeing it think that they're responsible for the cancellation. I've got news for them. It was the lack of viewers that caused the advertisers to pull out. Money, not morals, killed the show. What do you expect at 10pm on Friday night, anyway?

I also have an FU. FU to the guy suing Apple for hearing loss from using an iPod with the volume too high. There are something like 40+ years of headphones, and it has always been the responsibility of the listener to maintain a low enough sound level. Given the various volumes of source data, there's no practical way to ensure the sound is less than 85dB all of the time. 85dB is the limit of sound which requires no special precautions to conserve your hearing.

Admit it, you played your iPod too loudly!

Gay Gamers

Postby robbway » Fri Feb 03, 2006 6:22 pm

Must be in the name, but this Robb is a gay gamer as well. See, Dark Sakura, I'm not stalking you! Regardless, it isn't something that applies to gaming much. However, MMORPGs are social by nature, and when you introduce socializing with gaming, you're going to get clans collected by some very common traits. WoW is going a little overboard, not to mention being unrealistic.

Regarding the WOW discrimination, has their been any response or change/clarification of policy from any of the other MMORPG game companies?

There has been responses from both sides and we'll be covering that in the next podcast.

Would anyone like to tell me why there's a computer demo with a limited amount of executions? That's just stupid. It's a DEMO already. Why would you limit it any further?

You know what I found on my cell-phone? A crappy version of Pac-Man, with a 90-second time limit to play it. Holy god, some people are just retarded...
