Namco 50th Anniversary

Postby robbway » Mon Sep 05, 2005 7:38 pm

Namco has found us yet another way to buy the same classic games again! The PSP version features 21 games. The consoles feature 14. And GBA features 5. For that reason alone, the PSP is the best version.

To share games that are not featured for Battle, start up the game in your PSP. Select a classic version of a game and start it. As long as you don't quit, the current classic game will be playable. So pass the disk around to load up single-PSP arcade games.

HAHAHAHA now THAT'S what I call game sharing... didn't even think of that one, though it makes perfect sense. Nice

I know this is going to sound crazy but... I don't believe him. LOL. I think the closest it could be would be a "developer's" code a la the UM1 & UM2 codes... but come on, we're supposed to "find" that?

That... makes too much sense which is why I totally missed it :P

(I don't play enough Halo as you can see, I really really suck at FPS's except for Duke Nukem 8) )

Puppies!

Postby robbway » Sun Sep 11, 2005 4:59 pm

To those without DS, the game Petz is currently available (Amazon, Target $19.99). Contains Dogz 5 and Catz 5. They can have babies. It'd be really cool if they could have CatDogs, but no.

Nintendogs loses its steam fast with little to do and a bunch of dogs that act EXACTLY THE SAME. They seriously need to have a sequel where they grow up. I suspect we'll get a cat simulation first.

There's also a GBA knock off called Pocket Dogs coming out in Oct. as well.

game sources

Postby anonymous2 » Mon Sep 12, 2005 10:21 am

Is it wise for Loki to always talk about games that he's played that are neither released nor have demos available? I mean to some it probably seems as if he's just got "inside access" due to his job or this podcast, but to others more <ahem> "educated" it's only obvious how it's likely accomplished. Burnout Legends for example. If someone from EA listened to your latest podcast, wouldn't they be curious to know how you've played it for the past few days when it hasn't come out yet? If EA is pressing special "demo" UMDs for podcast reviewers or shipping him copies a week before release, I'll glady eat my words... ;) and suggest that Loki clarify that in future podcasts for the sake of drawing attention.

This isn't really a complaint on your topics or coverage, just a nudge from someone suggesting maybe you shouldn't be so blatant (is the "scoop" on new games worth the potential special attention this info might drag along with it?)
