No more JT

Postby robbway » Thu Nov 02, 2006 2:24 pm

I promise not to send any more JT stories with two exceptions:
1) He shakes down a ho and runs her over.
2) He admits to being paid by Rockstar for publicity.

It seems like the best way to get a Wii will be ordering it online. You may not get it right away, but they'll eventually fill your order. I also think I have a shot at my local Best Buy. I read that Best Buy's open at 8am on Wii day if they're not one that will sell them at midnight.

Just a point to the Lik Sang closure.

Postby Graywulf » Sat Nov 04, 2006 2:24 pm

It is sad that Lik sang had to be closed
for trying to sell PS3 to the UK.

But what can be realized and almost
explained in sony's comment at
protecting consumers almost gives
away the possibility that the PS3
might have problems with the UK's
power ratings and not wanting the
PS3 to be too overheated.

Ummm... Sony sued Lik-Sang for selling PSPs to the UK. It's kinda hard to sue someone for something they haven't even done yet.

That is true by law you cant sue someone for a crime not commited im sure a lawyer was consulted allthough the PSP has been selling for sometime now so I dont see that point.

In August of 2005, the company was once again in legal trouble, this time from Sony. Lik Sang had imported PSPs from areas where they were available, and re-exported them to to UK customers before the UK release date, which Sony alleged was a breach of their trademark rights.[3] Lik Sang continued shipping PSPs, claiming Hong Kong's laws allow an item to be traded freely once it appears in a market anywhere in the world.

On October 23, 2006, the High Court in London (Patents Court) ruled the shipments were indeed in breach of Sony's rights.[4] The following day, Lik Sang posted a message on their website claiming they had been forced out of business due to Sony's legal action. Sony responded in a statement[5] saying that Lik Sang had not contested the case, thus incurring no legal fees, and had not paid any damages or costs to Sony.

Remember, Graywulf, the law moves VERY SLOWLY. Roxor v. Konami was not going to have an actual hearing until 2007 (2008). This was not the case since the two parties settled. If RoXoR was going to take it all the way, it would have taken a very long time.
