Mortal Kombat Armegeddon

Postby robbway » Mon Oct 16, 2006 5:05 am

Skie, I played MKA more extensively last week. Instead of a second martial arts style, each character now has their own Air Kombat moves. Again, a throwback to MK1 and MK2, if you do a popup move and quickly press up, you can do a variety of throws and special moves.

Dress-to-Kill Barbie is nice, but the best parts are after the appearance settings. You get to assign moves and how they are entered on the pad, you get to pick weapons and stance, you get to choose name, martial arts style, and a brief bio. It's very thorough, though all the moves, weapons, and stances are from the other characters.

I'm not liking the Konquest as much as in Deception. It seriously needs a jump button. I also don't like the "fatality" lines in the go-karts. If you skid over one, you can't steer back onto the track. That makes the cars feel unresponsive.

I can't wait to hear this part, but did someone give the Sony reps the crazy pills? After all, the sun hasn't risen until Sony declares it to be so.

EDIT: I will be heading up to VGXpo next weekend. I have no idea what I'm in for. I live within a reasonable commute. Will there be an OLRmy meetup on Saturday?

OLR Meetup

Postby robbway » Thu Oct 19, 2006 7:19 am

I won't be in NYC this weekend. You guys have fun!

FYI, adjacent to the Convention Center where the VGXpo is:

Radisson Valley Forge Hotel

1160 1st Ave
King Of Prussia, PA 19406
USA

They still have rooms (1 or 2 people) at about $122 (tax incl) per night. I only just now booked a room for Friday night. I'm going to try and catch the keynote address.
