Club Nintendo finally opens up in North America

Postby Friz-Bee » Wed Dec 17, 2008 12:45 pm

After waiting for what seems like FOREVER, there is now a reason for North America to register Nintendo products on Nintendo's website.

Join Club Nintendo and get rewarded
Become a part of Club Nintendo for the opportunity to earn Coins that you and your family can redeem for exclusive rewards. Club Nintendo is also the only way to register products, enter sweepstakes and sign up to receive exclusive newsletters. So take a look around, sign up and enjoy the benefits today.

However, unlike the European Club where digital rewards are the main gifts, the North American Club will be more like the Japanese one with more physical rewards being offered as apposed to digital ones. These will consist of a mix of new items and those previously offered in Japan.

So far the list of rewards are as follows.

300 Coins

Wii Remote Holder

400 Coins

Nintendo DS Lite Case (Silver)

500 Coins

Animal Crossing Playing Cards

Mario Party Playing Cards

600 Coins

Nintendo DS Game Card and Stylus Set (Animal Crossing Theme)

Nintendo DS Game Card and Stylus Set (Super Mario Bros. Theme)

Nintendo DS Game Card and Stylus Set (Black)

Mario Nintendo DS Game Rack

White Nintendo DS Game Card Case

800 Coins

Hanafuda Cards

Game & Watch Collection (DS)

EDIT:

How to earn coins

You can earn Coins by:

Registering a Wii or Nintendo DS game and completing a quick survey.

Wii games = 50 Coins
Nintendo DS games = 30 Coins
Wii Shop Channel games and Wii Channels = 10 Coins

Indicating your intent to buy a game. You'll earn 10 extra Coins after you buy it, register it and complete the survey.

Registering a Nintendo game and completing a quick survey within 4 weeks of its launch. You'll earn an additional 10 Coins!

Completing a Post Play survey that will be available within 4-6 after the release of a game. You'll earn an additional 10 Coins!

The more games you register and surveys you complete, the more Coins you earn! Please note that not all games can be registered and not all registered games will qualify for a survey.

Status (Gold, Platinum)

How can I reach Gold or Platinum status?

Gold or Platinum status is based on the number of Coins earned in a Club Nintendo year. Each Club Nintendo year begins on July 1 and ends on June 30. If you earn 300 Coins during a Club Nintendo year you will reach Gold status. Earn 600 Coins during a Club Nintendo year and reach Platinum status!

Club Nintendo members that reach Gold or Platinum status by the end of the Club Nintendo year, will be sent a special reward. Special rewards will be announced shortly after June 30 and shipped later in the year.

Your status will reset annually on June 30.
