Nintendo update breaks the Wii Freeloader (June 16th 2008)

Postby Nijifa » Mon Jun 16, 2008 11:46 pm

Don't know if this update was worldwide, but I woke up this morning to a flashing blue light on my Wii (I'm in the UK). I accepted the update without thinking and now my freeloader won't work anymore...

Should have expected it I guess. Just means I have to suffer the UK Nintendo release schedules once more. Dammit.

So - if you have a freeloader - avoid the new update!

Then how will I get Super Mario RPG when it comes out on the Shop Channel?

If you had the homebrew channel installed this update does nothing. It just breaks the Twighlight hack. I think there's the gecko free region free player which works on wii and cube games available for homebrew if you have the channel installed. Or use a modchip (for wii games).

I tried the Twilight Hack to play Pong, but it wouldn't work... Now, I've just sold the game to a friend. Ah well... :(

Well it took them just a few hours but the guys who discovered the TP hack, have found a way around the new updates...

Its very technical but i think its hilarious that the Wii might be the new PSP...
