If you're still under warranty, it will be extended to 3 years (from today).
If you paid for repairs and the 1 year warranty, you'll get the 3 extra years and you'll be refunded the money you paid for it.
If your not under warranty, don't worry you'll also get 3 years! So if you have a broken 360 lying around somewhere, with the 3 red lights problem, you can either sell on it on Ebay or send it to repairs so you can play with it!

Yeah I think it's really good that Microsoft are taking responsiblity for the three red light problem and am impressed with 3 years worth of warrenty,
I mean how many people will still most likely be playing Xbox 360 in 3 years time?? I will probably being on the Xbox 720 or whatever they decide to call it.
