Guitar Hero III coming to PS2, PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii!

Postby DJTyrant » Tue Apr 10, 2007 1:29 pm

I'm really glad we'll still see it on PS2 this time around, but I will definetly have to look into getting the Wii version.

Do you guys think Neversoft is up to the task of keeping this great franchise a solid game?

They can always just copy what's already there with new music and I think it'll be fine :)

I think Neversoft has shown they can make fun games. I think they'll try a bunch of new things, some of which may miss the point, but the core game is still something I'm looking forward to.

I mean, if I must have Harmonix, there's always Rock Band.

The only thing I have to say about this is that Neversoft has done very well for their games and the only one game of theirs that I played and can't stand is THP8. I never even bothered with Gun or that Bruce Willis game.

P8 is freaking fun with the exception of a few goals. (Do these 3 events, get this score total, with this score in one combo! All in 2 minutes!)

I've had a blast playing it, though.

Have you played any of the other games before 8?

1, 2, 3, 4, American Wasteland, and uhhh... A tiny little bit of THPSU2 IIRC.

But didn't it seem to you that the quality has gone down with 8? I mean AW had fun missions, levels with character, and a good story. 8 just felt like I was playing one of the games before THUG and was really dull.

I don't really have any complaints about it. I don't know if it's the natural progression, or my lack of skill (that is, my degraded skill) but P8 kicks my ass with some of the combo/high score missions, and I enjoyed getting it back up.

Not to mention the new moves and create-a-trick are really addicting.
It could also be that THPS 1/2/3 were the games that I really, REALLY, played. And besides AW (which I haven't played nearly as much of), I've not played a THPS game in this career/adventure format all too terribly much.

I personally don't have any complaints with it sans the retarded amount of difficulty sometimes, but I don't have exactly the same experience you do :).

I theorize that the skateboarding venue will feature more prominently.

"It's a pretty good guitar... I mean, you can skate on it"

I want to put trucks and a steel frame in my GH controller now.

$10 says a guitar skateboard and characters from Guitar Hero are in the next Tony Hawk, which I only assume is out late this year because a year without a Tony Hawk release is like a year without dumb Sony quotes

But anyways back on topic. I don't think this really surprises anyone, with the success of Guitar Hero & Guitar Hero II is was obvious that the next Guitar Hero would go on as many platforms as possible

It's the only franchise I can think of where I actually HOPE they milk it for all it's worth.
