Metal DDR Pads...

Hey, we haven't forgotten our roots as a Music Video Game station. Talk about DDR/IIDX and all that note smashing here.

Postby TheAmplidude » Wed Apr 26, 2006 4:27 am

Since I didn't feel like reading what everyone else had posted up to so far (sorry  ) I'll just give you some suggestions to some good pads.

RedOctane Ignition (Anywhere from $60 - $100)

^^^ I've had a lot of good times with this pad. It can support playing styles from anywhere from Beginner to even some upper heavy songs. It's by far the best and cheapest way to go if you're just starting out. Highly recommended by me. Don't go for the cheap MadCatz 30 dollar pads, paying the extra maybe $50 for the Ignition is well worth it.

RedOctane Afterburner METAL PAD (Right around $200)

^^^ I haven't gotten to play on one of these personally, but I've seen them and got nothing but good personal reviews from them. If you want to go for the metal pad and don't want to spend $300 on a Cobalt, this is the way to go. It's supposed to be modeled for InTheGroove

Sorry for the double post, had to space them out..

The Cobalt Flux (All hail!!) $300 plus SHIPPING

^^^ By far the best you're going to get for your money. I've had mine for over a year now, and absolutely no problems with it. This pad is definately the closest to an arcade experience that you are going to get. The only bad thing is that it takes a while for them to ship and whatnot. Take it from me, this is the best pad out there.

Generic Metal Pads

^^^ Stay away from this crap on Ebay and wherever else you may see it.
3rd party metal pads = crap!

Watch out for the name T1000, whatever you do.

I highly still recommend the Ignition if you're just starting out though.

Happy DDR'ing! :D

My friend has 2 of them. They're really good pads. Unlike CF's, the Afterburner feels like the arcade because it has the indent.

Yeah, they were built to endure a beating from what I can assume. Well they were modeled for the release of ITG after all.

I've recently gotten to play on a CF with arcade style-recession with that add on pack they sell. It was amazing.
