Something tells me that ITG has already been put out to pasture.

Something tells me ITG may actually have decent songs that even remotely danceable for once.

Stepmania will sue.

...

I think it's too bad honestly. I didn't play much ITG but I like the idea of having multiple competing products on the market. I also think it's too bad that this kind of sets a precedent for game companies suing each other over making similar games.

Unless there's something else at work here - there may be some patents at work in this case that wouldn't show up in, say, Id software suing Microsoft for making a first-person shooter. Or people getting sued left and right by whoever made the first game about driving cars. Or Nintendo suing companies that make games with mascots in them.

Regardless, this better not put a dent in Guitar Hero sequels or I will be sad :( Red Octane did publish both games.

stfu. I loved ITG's music. Why does everyone hate it here? KaW kicks ass and a large majority of the rest of the stuff is awesome. I'm really sad to see ITG go. ITG > DDR.
Just as RoXoR > Konami.

I don't hate ITG.

I really do hope that ITG3 is still released in light of this new news.

This is really interesting development and I'll be curious to see what happens. I personally never got into ITG, but I always see competition as a good thing. So this kind of sucks in that regard, but if Konami wants to allocate more funds to make ITG a more quality game, well that can only be good, right?
Wonder if we'll be talking about an ITG home version in a few months?

I'm sad becaue ITG1 had my favorite band in it and I was hoping that their previous work with RedOctane would mean that they'd show up in Guitar Hero. So it goes I guess.

I keep talking about making my own game that doesn't have legal entanglements. I really should follow through on it at some point.

Though Vanilla Ninja does tickle my pop/rock sensibilities, Machinae Supremacy is what I was referring to. :) I believe the songs that were included in ITG were 'Hybrid' and 'Bouff.' Not my favorite songs by them, but seeing the band there was pretty cool.

A quick Wikipedia search tells me that 'Cryosleep' was in ITG2. Well, sweet. I love Cryosleep. Never really played ITG2 though so I guessed I missed it.

Edit: fixed punctuation
