Hello, I am a n00b here at OLR, but have been with AllGames for quite some time. Having recently been exposed to the fine OLR programming I want to participate in the live chat during tapings.

The problem is that I am a college student. That means I use a college internet that blocks port 6667.

I connect to the AllGames irc via port 5960.

I have done some reasearch on the Othernet IRC network, and have tried all their servers at port 5960 to all failures. Does anyone know what other ports are used by these servers that I could try?

Keep in mind that ports 6667-6669 are blocked.

Maybe try port 7000.

Otherwise maybe the java chat would work. I don't know.

Sorry to say that all of those fail to work.

The java also fails to work due to it also using 6667.

Looks like I'm SOL unless anyone knows something I can do.

May try a program to allow port forwarding. Unfortunately I wouldn't know where to begin with those.

This actually brings up a good question... why are we on othersideirc anyway? I think the original reason we went there is because it's the home of #ddrfreak and #bemanistyle popped up in the time that we've been there too. However, I question if our audiences really overlap as much as they used to... how many of our regular chatters also frequent another othersideirc channel? Just curious, maybe there's a lot and I just am completly unaware.

Although I have to say they've been a pretty stable network and we don't really get trolls or harassed at all so if it ain't broke don't fix it BUT.... I'm willing to entertain other ideas if anyone has suggestions that would minimize impact to our regulars.

Does AllGames exist on another network? Or do they run their own non-IRC chat server?
