Damned Gamestop...

Postby lordkaosu » Fri Oct 21, 2005 4:08 am

Went into Gamestop last night. They gave me a call that my Hello Kitty(GBA) was in after they didn't have it on release day due to some shipping mistake. Some new guy was working there pushing preorders. Problem is, he wouldn't check me out. He asked me no less then 5 times if I wanted to preorder, then insisted on reading off a very crappy upcoming release list for the GBA. No, I'm not interested in reserving Garfield. This damned guy wouldn't stop. I know they have quotas to make, and generally I like the employees at this store, but damn this guy sucked. I should've gotten angry but I just tried being patient with him. Next time maybe. This crap sure gets old. Wasted 15 mintues of my time when all I was doing was picking something up.

I despise sales-based locations.

I prefer reliably helping the customer, instead of pissing them off with things they don't care about.

I never liked Gamestop much, but I still get a few things from them every now and then. This fellow was just worse then anyone I've seen. Unfortunately, 90% of people that work at Gamestop and EB(although now the same) are nothing but a fountain of misinformation.

btw Jason, are you a mod or something on another board? Your name seems familiar but I can't think of it. Maybe DDR Freak or something? I haven't been on there in years though...dunno.

NMSU in in Las Cruces, about 2hrs further south. I'm currently going to UNM Valencia in Los Lunas. Hopefully(if things go right) move over to Tech(the local college) next summer or fall.

Although I'm really in Socorro right now due to my job and wife, she has a lot of family here. Maybe one of these days I'll move, not sure. Just have to see how it goes.

ha, that's the way it goes.

By chance, did you show up to the first DDR tournament that was held at Hinkle way back? I would be about 4 years ago or so, more or less. I really don't remember a date. It was the only one I ever made, but I really don't remember anyone from those days anymore. I never made another tourney afterwards.

I made the CompUSA tourney back in early January (2001 IIRC), but missed the first Hinkle tournament. Found out that they were holding another one in Feburary, attended that one.

Ran one in April. Helped run one in May.
Ran my now (relatively) famous Southwest Showdown for the first time in July.

Many more tournaments both run and attended until this year.

*reminisces*
Good times...
