Now I'm sure all the SNES fans will disagree but the Mega Drive (Genesis) Aladdin had the superior sound track. The music done by one of my favorite game composers Tommy Tallarico managed to capture the feeling and fun of the movie and even though they are remakes of already liscenced songs I think they hold up on there own. The whole thing is capped off by the SNES version not even having my favorite Aladdin song in it. You guessed it; Prince Ali!
Orange Lounge Radio celebrates seven years on the air, morphing from a Live365 station to a podcast to our home on All Games Radio. The show starts tonight with a flashback to a segment we used to do on the show called How was your week, how was your day? This spawns a long deep discussion on things, as it has been a while since our hosts have got very personal. There is no shortage of gaming news on our anniversary however, as we talk a bit about Magic: The Gathering and other games in our gaming week. Then there are some rumors about Mega Man and Final Fantasy on Playstation Network, and news of yet another lawsuit in the gaming world, this time surrounding FFXI. Tune in for all this and more including your chatroom comments, phone calls and e-mails on the show where every gamer has a voice: Orange Lounge Radio
Today's pick is Stepping Wind (Wahoo Stomp) from Klonoa 2: Lunatea's Veil
Please note due to copyright issues I can not make this song available for you to download directly.
I love Klonoa, a lot. But I think I wouldn't be a fan of his if it weren't for Lunatea's Veil. While it might look a bit bland, it's still a solid platformer with many interesting puzzles thrown in too. As for the music, most of the songs are mystifying, like a dream. But Stepping Wind (also known as Wahoo Stomp) is really different from the other tracks in the game, it's upbeat and adorable too, something completely different. And it's really cool to hear Klonoa singing too, even though you might not understand what the heck is saying, besides "WAHOO!".
If you want to post your opinion about today's track or you've got a song suggestion you would like to see featured from a game let us know in the comments or hit me over at Twitter @act_deft and we'll see what we can do about featuring it in an up coming article!
Starting this Thursday will be Anime-Expo which is one of the largest anime conventions in the U.S. It's not limited to anime though as there are a few guests this year that have some ties with the videogame industry. Held in Los Angeles this year it will be four days of panels, tournaments and much more as the cultures of anime and gaming colide.
We will have an oppertunity tomorrow to interview a couple of the Guests of Honor and would love your questions! Our focus will be on the guests with videogame backgrounds/roots; so here's the list of the people we are going to try to hit up:
Feel free to leave questions here and we will check these before we head out tomorrow. You can also email DJTyrant (djtyrant at gmail dot com) with your questions (please include who you want asked). Also make sure to follow us on Twitter: @DJTyrant, @HSailormoon and @Bresslol.
We will also be playing some of the newest releases and get the latest impressions on titles including Demon's Soul, Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, and more!
