I Love That Song! - Battlecry PDF Print E-mail

battlecry

Due to legal reasons I can't make this song available for download directly.

Battlecry - nujabes feat. Shing02

Okay, technically it's not really from a game, but there was the PS2 game based on the anime, and this song naturally made an appearance in it, so I say it counts! :P

But in all seriousness when I'd heard the news from DDR legend Mel B that one of this song's composers, Seba 'nujabes' Jun had died in a car crash last month, I was definetly saddened to hear the news... I always loved this opening theme to the Samurai Champloo anime, it really set the tone for the 'Hip-Hop meets feudal Japan' setting from the anime and the game. Two lone samurai wind up crossing paths in a local eatery which happens to be waitressed by the young Fuu, and things just go downhill from there and the trio winds up getting into all kinds of trouble. (That is, when they're not trying to outright kill each other!!)

ilovemm2

Beating Dr. Wily hasn't been so awesome since.

Today's track is Dr. Wily Stage 1 from Mega Man 2

Please note due to copyright issues I can not make this song available for you to download directly.

This song really needs no presentation whatsoever. It's freaking Dr. Wily Stage 2 from Mega Man 2! What more can say other than it's probably one of the best video game tracks of all time! Not even Kanye can deny it.

Seriously though, Mega Man 2 has probably some of, if not, the best music in the whole series and of video game history. So many memorable tracks can be named from it, but the climax of it all are the Dr. Wily stages and they couldn't have made a better song than this to hype you up.

I really know you enjoyed this song and if you have any comments or suggestions for future "I love that song" segments, please do so or contact us via Twitter: @olr, @Darktetsuya or me, @act_deft!

Until next time... Keep on blasting!

It is episode 360 of our show, so of course we have to start the night off with some 360 rumors and updates. The possibilities of a slim 360? USB storage? A new way to get DLC? Oh yeah, it's all here, as are the thoughts from our live chatters. Of course we have to start off the show with a bit of our gaming weeks... what caused one of our hosts to have a bad game marathon? How did he subject his significant other to Yaris and not get dumped? Tune in and find out... In part B tonight, we bring back LISTLESS with a special Microsoft twist. We talk Pikmin 3, Bungie and even Commodore 64, then interview with Xbox Live Indie publisher YYR who had his game "Falling" released during tonights show! Talk about timing! All this and MORE including your chatroom antics, phone calls, e-mails, tweets and much more on the show where EVERY gamer has a voice-- Orange Lounge Radio! Please Note: Due to Rob traveling to PAX East there will be no live or podcast show on 3/28/10

Orange Lounge Radio: BEST HITS (Volume 1) AVAILABLE NOW! PDF Print E-mail

bestof

It's been talked about since the early days of the show. Even moreso in recent months with the creation of the OLRchive and the Wiki.

Ladies and gentlemen, I am proud to present:

Orange Lounge Radio: BEST HITS Volume 1.

This was a collaborative effort between myself and fellow fangirl Misty, who was kind enough to provide narration for this trip down memory lane. We're hopping in the TARDIS and travelling back to the year 2002, where we revisit our early days when we talked about Konami's BEMANI line of music games at home and the arcade.

That's not to say OLR was any less of a trainwreck back then than it is now.... far from it.

But you don't have to take my word for it, download the first volume HERE!! (or my mediafire mirror HERE!!)
