I knowI know, another BEMANI song. But let me explain.
So anyway DDR X2 finally released to Japanese arcades as of today (in Japan, since they're like eight hours ahead of us) and in addition to all the brand-new songs and crossovers from the other games, were some more Dancemania revivals, like this song.
But, what's really awesome is there's a remix of this song in DDR X2, done by BEMANI mainstay L.E.D.! I found a video of the song in action, hit the jump to check it out!
Our 8th anniversary show starts as any other with talk about our gaming weeks with special guest Drewnami. In Part A tonight, we talk about Reggie confirming a 2011 launch for the 3DS... but was it a confirmation or just a slip up? Also, it looks like a cheaper XBOX 360 is on the horizon, which might help offset the $150 cost of Kinect on Microsofts own store. Jamie is happy to hear people are quitting facebook games, and we are all happy to hear that Nintendo admits they can improve on their online presence. In Part B, we cover some developments on the anti-piracy front, and talk about DC comics coming to the PSN. A fan game we have been following for some time FINALLY sees a release date, even if Castlevania: Harmony of Despair may never see a release date on PSN. Also, what classic game show game is tapped to be getting a revival soon? All this and MORE including your chatroom antics, phone calls, twitter topics, e-mails and MORE on the show where EVERY gamer has a voice - Orange Lounge Radio!
At Fanime 2010 we got a small glimpse into the future on BlazBlue and their expansion Continuum Shift. The panel featured Toshimichi Mori & Daisuke Ishiwatari from Arc System Works. There wasn't a ton of new information as it was a pre-E3 event, but here are some quick bullet points:
3 new characters (at least)
Awesome netcode
Plans for a third BlazBlue title as long as there is the support for it
Balance patch coming around 6 months after US release
$40 for Xbox 360 and PS3 versions, stand-alone game.
Anime-Expo starts off tomorrow amidst some controversy with a CEO change and various policy changes that have upset many of the regular con goers, including the initial report that there would be no arcade at Anime-Expo 2010. This prompted some to voice their concerns and there was at least one protest group on Facebook about the lack of an arcade this year.
All the worrying about an arcade came to an end yesterday in the 11th hour as Anime-Expo announced that Arcade Infinity would be the official arcade for AX2010. I'm sure most of you who visit this site are well aware of Arcade Infinity and its place in the grand scheme of arcades, especially in regards to Bemani games.
As a note, Arcade Infinity will be closed till Monday as the machines will be at the Los Angeles Convention Center. The arcade will be open from 6am till midnight each day, you can also check out the list of arcade machines in this thread. The arcade will be located in the concourse foyer and should be accessible without a badge.
