- Second Style (Hip Hop Paradise) - IIDX Konami will sue if I offered links to download these, sorry!
I had a conversation on twitter with a couple of my fellow OLRmites, Misty and act-deft. We all agreed this was a great pick for ILTS, so I'm featuring it.... Well actually them, because the song's first appearance was in IIDX 2nd Style under the title 'Second Style (Hip Hop Paradise)'. Back when IIDX wasn't all hellacious note charts and anime theme music, the early games actually had several 'Hip Hop' style songs.
Interestingly, the song was remixed for IIDX 5th Style, using the same lyrics but now under the title 'IIDX'. Both of these songs feature crazy live-action antics, though I was unable to find a link to Second Style's video, but here's a link to IIDX's original bg video.
Video Stumble is back with some high speed dancing at high speed driving!
This time on Video Stumble we have an OLRmy member, letshavetea, doing a pretty awesome stunt, playing DDR on the back of a pick-up truck. The video shows how he made the whole setup to be able to do so and the modifications he had to do to the truck itself. And kids, if you plan to do this, please don't, or at least not unsupervised, even letshavetea had some help.
Pretty nice, don't you think? Be sure to check letshavetea's YouTube channel for the bloopers!
(yadda yadda yadda copyright text here blah blah blah... just google it :P)
First off I forgive act-deft for hijacking my usual timeslot, I just wasn't expecting an update the other day!
Anyways, as I mentioned in my Mario retrospective on Monday, Nintendo and Konami struck a deal which landed Mario in his own GameCube exclusive version of Dance Dance Revolution! A remix of one of the world themes in Super Mario Bros. 3, it's a pretty great track. Jazzed up enough to dance to, while still sounding like the original.
Seriously, if you don't recognize this tune, where the heck have you been all this 25 years?
Today's track is Overworld from Super Mario Bros.
Please note due to copyright issues I can not make this song available for you to download directly.
Well, what more can I say about Mario that probably most of you don't already know by now. This is probably the most recognized video game song in all the world, even non-gaming people . From the Super Mario Bros. Super Show theme music to ringtone on many cellphones. It is also Koji Kondo's rise to fame.
There's also a lot of versions and arrangements to this song, and many people have played it on so many instruments and on many different events. Seriously, while not the best song ever, you have to recognize it's simple yet catchy tune.
