So I thought for Valentine's Day I'd cover one of my favorite pieces of NES music, the ending/credits theme from The Adventures of Bayou Billy (aka 'Mad City' in Japan) is my pick for today.
Bayou Billy was definetly an underrated game. 1/3rd Double Dragon-style beat em up, 1/3rd Roadblasters-style driving and shooting scenes, and 1/3rd Operation Wolf-style target shooting as Billy attempts to save his girlfriend Annabelle, it was pretty awesome for the time.
But what really got me about this game was the soundtrack, composed by several people with Konami at the time: Jun Funahashi, Hidenori Maezawa Atsushi Fujio, and T. Ogura. Perhaps nobody known for anything BEMANI-related aside from Jun Funahashi (Who I don't believe is the 'jun' made infamous by BEMANI, but I can't confirm for sure), but their work was still epic.
Case in point being this amazing track which plays once you've completed the game and saved your dearest Annabelle from the clutches of the evil Gordon!
I'll be back tomorrow with another pick... technically it's a repeat of a song I've done before, but with the news of our 2nd longest-running segment of the show coming to an end (right behind FUs of the Week), I knew I had to do something, so stay tuned for that!

(SOPA may be history, but what's to stop Konami from shutting us down if I linked you directly? Sorry I don't wanna chance it.)
As you probably heard on the podcast this week, one of the songs that's been appearing in some of Konami's more recent music games (DDR II on the Wii -- excellent mix from what I've heard, Pop'n Music Portable 2 on PSP, and BOOM BOOM DANCE on XBOX 360 Kinect known as Rhythm Party here in the US ... available now for 800 spacebucks!) one of the songs Konami's been pimping the crap out of was this song.
A collaboration between BEMANI mainstay Des-ROW (Best known for Daikenkai from DDR EXTREME/Pop'n Music, as well as a bunch of other songs in the various games in the series.) and Vanilla Ice (Y'know, the NINJA RAP from the 2nd TMNT movie?! and I think 'Ice Ice Baby' was in DDR X2 both Arcade and home versions.) and I have to say this song is pretty sick! Perhaps not as fast as something NAOKI might've cooked up, but don't let that fool you into thinking the song's a cake walk!
